NOA is the umbrella body for all members (Optometrists) and affiliate bodies - Association of Optometrists in Public Health Centres in Nigeria (AOPHCN)

The Family of Optometric Mentors (FOM); Guild of Optometric Directors of Nigerian (GOODON)
NOA Lagos is a State Chapter comprising of members living/practicing in Lagos State. With over 500 Optometrists practicing in Lagos, NOA Lagos plays a pivotal role in the affairs of Optometry in Nigeria.
Presently, the State Chapter has 4 zones - Ikeja Zone, Alimosho Zone, Festac Zone, Island Zone.
Vision
To build a world in which no one is needlessly blind and where those with unavoidable vision loss can achieve their full potential.
Mission
To reduce avoidable blindness to its barest minimum by making quality and affordable eye care accessible to the public, utilizing reliable and efficient professional skills
What the association does
- Setting professional standards to aid members in conducting patient care efficiently and effectively.
- Conducting research and generating data on public eye care statistics to aid informed decisions on eye care and health policies and programmes
- Delivering a unified voice about issues affecting the profession and advocating for the interest of Optometrists & the general public.
Four zones
The chapter organises Lagos State into four zones, each holding its own meetings alongside the chapter-wide programme.
The executive council
8 officers elected to serve the chapter for the 2026–2028 term. Each holds a role address that passes to their successor, so writing to an office reaches whoever currently holds it.
